Bentonite and Asphalt solutions
We provide specialized solutions for mining and drilling operations based on bentonite and its unique properties. Our technologies are designed to improve drilling efficiency, ensure borehole stability, and optimize fluid performance in demanding conditions. With extensive experience, we deliver reliable, high-quality bentonite-based systems that support safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations across a wide range of applications.
Bentonite blocks
Function and application
Bentonite materials have a high swelling capacity in contact with water-based solutions. As a result of the volume-stable installation of the bentonite at the required density, the bentonite develops swelling pressure during this swelling process. This swelling pressure actively seals the installed cross-section. At the same time, the swollen bentonite, when installed to the required quality, has very low permeability. This ensures a reduction in the flow velocity and volume flow of the flowing fluids in the bentonite. These properties make bentonite blocks the preferred sealing material for sealing systems in civil engineering, in shafts and tunnels in underground mining, and in boreholes for fluid mining (oil/gas, geothermal energy, fluid storage).
Bentonite is a natural building material whose long-term durability is demonstrated by natural analogues for a wide range of conditions.
Using quality-assured raw materials the bentonite blocks can be manufactured with application-specific dimensions, compositions and specific swelling properties.
Composition and manufactoring technology
Bentonite blocks are produced by the method of semi-dry pressing of a mixture consisting of the following components:
- finely dispersed bentonite powder
- inert filler (e.g. quartz sand)

Asphalt blocks
Function and application
Due to their rheological properties asphalt is a construction material that is processed in a solid state but function as viscous, flowable material. This makes them suitable for use in technical barriers and waterproofing systems in civil engineering, mining (shafts and tunnels), and boreholes. The asphalt blocks are manufactured from bitumen specifically selected for the respective application and combined with inorganic additives (to control density and flowability). The dimensions of the blocks are individually adjusted to the specific requirements of the application. The blocks are packaged, stored, and transported in cartons with a special non-stick coating. To ensure dimensional stability, the product is delivered on stabilized pallets.
The manufacturing process controls the bricks’ rheological behavior, allowing them to spread out at the temperature on the construction site once they are removed from their packaging. The material fills the voids and acts as a hydrostatic active sealant.
Composition and manufactoring technology
Asphalt blocks are obtained by hot pouring a mixture consisting of the following components:
- finely dispersed mineral filler
- oil bitumen
- regulating additives
